SW 15 SEND and AP Network

Supporting the development of local area partnerships and improving outcomes for children and young people.

Overview

The SW 15 SEND and AP Network is a South West regional group set up to improve outcomes and provision for children and young people and support local area partnership development in line with the 2014 Children and Families Act.

It includes all stakeholders: education, health care, parents and young people.

Peer support and sharing practice is at the centre of what we all do. We work together to strengthen practice through regional events, workshops and training. Our work is agreed through the regional Steering Group and is documented in the SW SEND Regional Development Plan, which can be found here.

Governance is through the SW SEND Steering Group, chaired by the South West Regional SEND Co-Ordinator.

Membership of the steering group includes lead representatives from:

  • Strategic Local Authority SEND leads
  • Department for Education SEND Advisors
  • Regional Parent Carer Forum representative
  • Integrated Care Boards SEND leads
  • Regional National Health Service Advisors
  • Principal Social Worker
  • and a member of the South of England Principal Education Psychology Group

The SW 15 SEND and AP network link closely with the South West Association of Directors of Children’s Services networks.
